Project Overview
Secure Access Solutions were instructed to repair and refurbish damaged steel gates following impact damage.
The scope of works included removing and replacing bent steel bars, carrying out structural welding repairs, restoring protective coatings, and fully recommissioning the gates to ensure safe and reliable operation.
All works were completed on 11/12/2025.
The Challenge
The gates had suffered damage resulting in bent steel bars, misalignment, and compromised appearance. The client required:
-
A robust structural repair rather than a full gate replacement
-
A finish that matched the existing anthracite grey gates
-
Long-term corrosion protection
-
Smooth, safe operation once works were completed
Our Solution
Our engineers prepared six new solid steel bars (12mm diameter, 80cm length), which were galvanised and powder-coated in Anthracite Grey RAL 7016 to match the existing gates.
All damaged bars were cut away, and the new bars were welded securely into position. Each weld joint was treated with Galvafroid to restore corrosion resistance before the repaired areas were repainted using anthracite grey metal paint for a consistent, refreshed finish.
Both gate hinges were then adjusted to correct alignment issues, followed by full recommissioning to confirm smooth operation and correct functionality.
Works Completed
-
Removed all bent and damaged steel bars from the gates
-
Cut away damaged sections and welded new solid steel bars in place
-
Treated all new weld joints with Galvafroid for long-term protection
-
Repainted both gates in anthracite grey for a clean, uniform finish
-
Adjusted both gate hinges to restore correct alignment
-
Fully recommissioned the gates and confirmed correct operation
-
Left the site clean, tidy, and the gates secure and refreshed
Outcome
The gates were successfully repaired and recommissioned, restoring both their structural integrity and appearance. The finished result provided a secure, durable solution that extended the lifespan of the existing gates while delivering a smart, professional finish. The site was handed back clean and tidy, with the gates operating smoothly and safely.
