Case Study: FAAC B680 Barrier Replacement and Concrete Plinth Installation

Project Overview

Recommend to supply and install new Faac B680 barrier to replace damage unit and new concrete fixing plinth. Allowing existing wiring to locate into new barrier.

First visit: remove barrier and lock off isolation.

  • Excavate concrete fixing plinth and dispose of responsibly.
  • Install new concrete fixing plinth with existing wiring duct in the centre.

Second visit: supply and install new barrier system and wire accordingly.

  • Commission and test.

All works were completed on 23/09/2025.

Works Completed

  • Removed the damaged barrier unit during the first visit and safely isolated the power supply
  • Excavated and removed the existing concrete fixing plinth, disposing of all waste responsibly
  • Installed a new concrete fixing plinth with the existing wiring duct positioned centrally for correct alignment
  • Returned for the second visit once the concrete had set to supply and install the new FAAC B680 barrier system
  • Wired the new barrier into the existing services and carried out full commissioning
  • Tested all functions to ensure smooth and reliable operation
  • Left the barrier fully operational and the site clean and tidy
